Our client is looking for a Senior Java Developer – Post-Out Soft Facilities

Description

Our client in the health insurance sector is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join the Post-Out team within Soft Facilities.

Domain: Soft Facilities
Work schedule: 5 days/week
Start date: ASAP
Duration: At least until the end of the year, with a possible extension
Work location: 1 day per week in Schaerbeek and 4 days per week working from home

Context

The Facilities team consists of several Agile teams, including the Post-Out team, which has approximately seven members. This team manages all outgoing communications to 4.5 million members via email, SMS, letters, Doccle, etc., representing 80 million communications per year.

For this purpose, the team uses two Document Management Systems called Papyrus and Comform. These are critical components for several business domains. The necessary upgrades to the latest version must be completed, the old system must be phased out, and multiple test scenarios must be carried out and coordinated.

Key Requirements

  • Native Dutch or French speaker with very good additional knowledge of Dutch/French and English.
  • Very strong and in-depth technical analysis skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and Scrum team, as well as experience as a Scrum Master.
  • Work location: one day per week in Schaerbeek and four days per week working from home.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate efficiently with the different stakeholders, including functional analysts and the Solution Architect, so that they fully understand task priorities.
  • Ensure that your code is fully covered by unit tests.
  • Make technical improvement proposals and defend them before the Solution Architect.
  • Support the tester during functional testing.
  • Analyse integrations with other parties and systems.
  • Develop the technical design based on a functional analysis.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure employees to install applications and monitor their operation.
  • Document your software thoroughly without getting lost in details.

Additional Responsibilities

  • During development, work closely with the Solution Architect, analysts and testers to ensure that functionalities are correctly implemented and tested.

Profile

  • In-depth knowledge of Quarkus, JSP, SQL, Java 8 and higher, XML, XSD, Web Services (SOAP and REST), and OpenShift.
  • Experience with development and deployment in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
  • Knowledge of the following tools: WebLogic, Maven, Nexus, Git, etc.
  • Knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, RDS and SNS/SQS, or similar cloud services, is an asset.
  • Experience in the development and application maintenance of enterprise-class systems.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Critical mindset and strong analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Quality-focused, accurate and equipped with a no-nonsense mentality.
  • Results-oriented, proactive and dynamic.
  • Dutch- or French-speaking, with good knowledge of the other national language and very good knowledge of English.
