As a Senior ICT Delivery Lead within our client’s Brussels-based tribe, you will be the driving force behind the execution, quality, and delivery of business-critical software solutions. You will bridge the gap between strategic logistics objectives and complex technical implementation. Leading multiple high-performing squads, you will champion a mature Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), eliminate delivery roadblocks, and orchestrate the flow of real-time data between cloud systems and physical logistics assets.
As a senior leader, you will act as a strategic sparring partner for the Tribe Lead, Technical Lead, Agile Coach, Product Owners, and engineering teams to optimize our client’s delivery pipeline from concept to production.
Core Responsibilities
SDLC Governance & Agile Leadership
- End-to-End SDLC Ownership: Oversee and optimize the entire Software Development Life Cycle, ensuring robust requirements gathering, structured development, rigorous testing, and seamless deployment.
- Release & Execution Roadmap: Take ownership of the execution roadmap, ensuring the timely and predictable release of scalable features for our client’s logistics platform.
- Agile Maturity: Actively coach squads to elevate their technical practices, performance, and self-organization.
- Impediment Removal: Proactively identify and eliminate technical, organizational, or pipeline bottlenecks to maximize development throughput and quality.
- Stakeholder Management: Translate complex technical roadmaps and SDLC milestones into transparent, value-driven updates for logistics business partners and executive management.
Technical Alignment (IoT & Cloud)
- Stack & Quality Assurance: Oversee technical standards and delivery quality for applications built on Node.js (NestJS), TypeScript, and Angular, enforcing SDLC best practices such as code reviews and automated testing.
- Logistics Data & IoT: Guide the team in processing high-volume, real-time data and messaging via MQTT and IoT protocols into PostgreSQL databases.
- AWS Infrastructure & DevOps: Support engineering teams in optimizing a scalable, secure, and cost-efficient AWS cloud environment, promoting CI/CD automation as a core part of the SDLC.
Required Skills & Experience
Professional Background
- Experience: 7+ years of proven experience as a Delivery Lead or similar role within a complex software engineering environment.
- SDLC Expertise: Deep, practical knowledge of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including modern DevOps practices, automated testing frameworks, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Domain Expertise: Previous experience within logistics is considered a plus.
- Scale: Extensive experience working within a scaled agile environment, such as the Spotify model, SAFe, or Tribe/Squad dynamics.
Technical Literacy
- Deep conceptual understanding of modern software architecture, particularly microservices, API-driven, and event-driven systems.
- Strong familiarity with the ecosystem and deployment lifecycle of TypeScript, NestJS, and Angular applications.
- Practical experience leading teams deploying solutions on AWS and working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, alongside message brokers such as MQTT for IoT device communication.
Soft Skills
- Exceptional leadership, mentoring, and conflict-resolution capabilities.
- Strong negotiation skills combined with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch or French is considered a strong plus.
